Running in a Winter Wonderland??

Emily and I have still been going pretty strong with our running.  I'm so proud of her for keeping it up especially as the weather is getting worse.  We decided that we would try for one race a month.  As we were looking, I found one in Old Town St. Charles in December and thought it would be a lot of fun.  They always decorate the area with real garland and have old fashioned carolers in the street and it is a beautiful setting for getting in the Christmas spirit.  As the day got closer, we realized it was going to be a little cold that morning but we were okay with that.  As we were going to bed last night, the snow started...and it was still snowing (pretty heavily at times) as we drove over the river and headed that way.  We had to document the occasion!
Yes, this is what it actually looked like while we were running!  It was definitely the craziest weather we have run in to date!  The course was wet and sloppy and I kept thinking I was going to slip and fall.  But we had a great time running in our winter wonderland!

It was a pretty heavy, wet snow so it was already starting to melt once we got home.  We were able to make a quick snowman before it all went away!
