Five Months Have Flown By!!!

I can't believe Hannah is five months old today! She is growing so much and I just love spending time with her. It has made me extra unmotivated to go to work this week, but at the same time extra excited that I only have one more day left before summer break! This summer is going to be so much fun with Hannah! She continues to love to smile, all the time, and will even laugh out loud when she gets really excited! She has also started rolling over! She continues to practice and does it a few times a day. It's not going to be long before she is mobile! That is very crazy to think about. I love our happy go-lucky baby and can't wait to see what summer brings!

Go Cards!

We've had a busy Memorial Day weekend, and one of the best parts was taking Hannah to her first Cardinal's game! She was even all decked out in her Pujol's shirt compliments of Nana and Papa! Right after church we headed over to the Lou for a quick lunch at one of our favorite eating establishemnts, Calico's. We then went to Busch Stadium for the big game! It was rather warm, but Hannah was a trooper! She did take a little nap while Gwannie was holding her, which was better than nothing! She also got a special treat from Gwannie and Gampy -- a Build-A-Bear in her very own Cardinal's shirt! It was a great afternoon! The O'Fallon Panther's baseball team was supposed to play at the end of the Cardinal's game, but it started raining at just the wrong time and that game got cancelled. Overall, it was a successful first game and we can't wait to take Hannah back later this summer! Go Cards!

The Summer is Beginning

We had a productive weekend, but did find some time to play as well. On Saturday, we got lots of cleaning done both in the house and outside in the garage. We also had a few places to go including a graduation party and a friends house. We finished the evening by grocery shopping and hanging out at home. Today, I feel like summer has begun, even through there are 10 days of school left! Tim's baseball league started today so after church we drove out to Clinton County to kick of the season. Hannah and I left early so we could get back to the first annual neighborhood block party. Even though we have been here for just over two years, we have only met a few neighbors, so it was great to met some other people. There are lots of kids on our block, including three other babies that are Hannah's age. It will be fun to watch them all grow up! It was a great weekend and it makes me even more excited for summer to be here! Did I mention only 10 more days of school?!?!

Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was absolutely fabulous! Last year, this was a really tough day on me and I even skipped church that day to just reflect and spend time with Tim. It was a really hard time in our life. What was really awesome, however, was that we were already pregnant and found out just about a week later. It was the end of one chapter in our life and the beginning of something wonderful! This year was a perfect day! We went to church in the morning and then out to lunch with some friends afterward. Then Tim, Hannah and I came home and I was able to take a nap! It was fabulous! Then in the evening we ate dinner with my mom and dad. It was a great day for family! When God chose me to be a mother, he blessed me with the most beautiful baby girl in the world. The love I have for her is a special bond between the two of us. Thank you, God, for this awesome gift! Hannah got me a Willow Tree angel and Daddy got me a book about Mommy confessions! Three generations - a mother's legacy of love passed down.

Another Month Goes By

I can't hardly believe it has been four months since Hannah has been part of our family! This month I can really start to see Hannah's personality come through. She is truly a happy, laid back baby. Hannah has been "talking" all the time - to just about anyone who will listen. She especially likes to hang out and talk with Miss Dana, her babysitter. She also smiles all the time - sometimes without even being prompted. It is so much fun to interact with her. She is eating five times a day and sleeping for about 10.5 hours each night, which is much welcomed by her mommy and daddy! We also have started trying some rice cereal. So far it is kind of hit and miss, but we will just keep working with it. She is also getting stronger every day. She holds her head up pretty well and loves to be sitting up and looking around no matter where we are. She does have tummy time everyday, but isn't quite rolling over yet. We'll get there soon though. Hannah officially weighs in at 12.1 pounds and is 23 1/4 inches long. Both in the 25th percentile. The doctor said she is healthy and doing great! We praise God everyday for the journey we went through and the blessing that Hannah is to our lives. Being a mommy is truly one of life's greatest gifts. Thank you, God, for choosing us to be Hannah's parents. We pray that you will continue to bless our family.

Yummy Yummy Yummy I Got Rice in my Tummy?

Well, Hannah turned four months old on Thursday (I'll post her bear pic and stats after she visits the doctor on Wednesday) so we thought we would try our hand at starting solids. I went into this process very open minded and not wanting to push anything, but just wanted to see how things would go. I figured if it is disasterous then we can stop and try again in a week or so. So, last night was our first attempt and it seemed okay. I think she actually swallowed some of it so I figured that was a good start. Tonight she was not quite as interested, so we'll see how the next couple of days go.

Family Ties

This past Saturday was a fun day for our family. My cousin's son turned two so we headed to Springfield, Illinois to wish Joel a happy birthday. It was a fun and relaxing afternoon spending time with my extended family. We realized that Tim hadn't really ever met my cousins and their families so that was an added bonus. Overall, it was a great afternoon. The Birthday Boy - Joel. All of the cousins with their spouses and kids - so much fun! Our beautiful baby girl!
