Run Daddy, Run!

Today was a very exciting day for us. Tim ran his first Half Marthon in St. Louis this morning! He has been working really hard and training for about four months to complete this 13.1 mile run. He did an awesome job and ran it in 2:06:25! An outstanding job for a rookie half-marathoner! Although it was a little chilly and rained pretty much rained the whole time, Hannah and I, along with my dad, were there cheering for Daddy the whole time!

Here is Hannah hanging out in her new jogging stroller cheering on Daddy. Way to go, Daddy! Here is Tim just about half way through, around mile 6. He had just spotted us on the sidelines.

Meet me in St. Louie

After coming home from Wisconsin, we were able to spend the rest of our spring break with the Gorsch's. They were here on Sunday night when we got home and after putting the kids to bed, we were able to hang out some. It was quite an adventure with three kids under the age of two, three dogs and four adults. Sadie slept in Marc and Kristina's room and Kinnick and Hannah had a sleepover in Hannah's room.
Monday morning we ventured to the zoo, making it Hannah's first trip to the zoo. We were a little afraid it may rain, but it didn't start raining until we were headed to the car at 3:00. It was a perfect day to walk around and explore the animals. Here are some shots of our zoo trip.

After our trip to the zoo, we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening hanging out at the house. Kinnick and Hannah loved playing together, and we even got a few photos of them together.

Overall, it was a wonderful way to end our Spring Break! Gorsch's - thanks for coming down and hanging out with us! We can't wait to do it again soon!

Hannah's First Easter

Hannah was able to experience her first Easter three different times over the course of Spring Break. First, on Thursday we had Easter lunch at my mom and dad's before we all took off for our trips. It was a yummy lunch of traditional Yates/Blake food and made me feel like I was with my extended family for Easter. Hannah received her first Easter basket from Gwannie and Gampy full of new books - one of her favorite gifts! Here is a snap of it.

On Friday, we left for the northwoods to spend some time with Tim's family. Saturday was a busy day of two Easter celebrations, a seperate meal and family time with both sets of Hannah's great grandparents. In between meals, we also watched Daddy play basketball at the G-E-T Alumni game. Even though his team was 0-2, he did a great job!

On Sunday, Hannah got more Easter baskets from us and from Nana and Papa and a pair of shoes from Aunt Nikki and Uncle Kyle. After church, we started for our trip home. It was a great weekend to spend with family, and most of all to reflect on what Jesus did for us by dying on the cross. We praise Him every day for his sacrifice.
