Our (2nd) Blessing from God

Tonight we had the opportunity to participate in our church's Baby/Child Dedication for Cameron.  It was such a nice evening for families to come together and publicly declare to God that we will raise our children to know, love and serve Him.  Not only is it important to do this as a family, but it is awesome to do this in the presence of  other families.  It reminds us that we are all in this crazy thing called parenting together...and boy do we need each other at times.  I know Tim and I will make numerous mistakes as we raise Cameron (and Hannah too for that matter).  However, I am so thankful that we have a heavenly Father to reach out to in the hard times and rejoice with in the happy times.  I am thankful for a husband who puts so much regard in his faith life and that my partner in all of this serves the same God I do.  Thank you, God, for the gift of Cameron and for entrusting us to raise him.  Our prayer is the he learns to love You, serve You and bring others to You through his life.

A New 'Do

For most of Cameron's first year, he had little to no hair. Within the last couple of months, it finally started coming in and it was getting really thick in certain parts. I decided that we needed to get it cut so that it would be all even. I recruited a friend from my life group to take us to the barber shop that her husband goes to. Cam got right up on the chair and sat so well for Mike, the barber.
He sat very still while Mike shaved his head...and did even better once we realized there were Dum-Dum suckers at the barber shop!

All done!  Here is barber Mike and Cameron capturing this milestone!
And a close up shop of our little man!  Doesn't he look so stinkin' big now?!?!  We even picked up a new brush before we left.
I'm sure this will be the first of many trips to the barber shop!

Easter Weekend

We had a fabulous weekend celebrating Easter and our risen Savior.  We started by attending our church's Saturday night Easter service.  We were a part of a record breaking attendance of 650 people!  Our amazing church also decided to give away all of the offerings given Easter weekend.  We found out later in the weekend that it was around $40,000!  What a blessing it is to be a part of a selfless church who truly acts out what they ask us.  The service was so amazing and a wonderful way to kick off the Easter holiday.  We got a quick picture of the kiddos before leaving.  Don't you love Hannah's "cheese" face?
We also got a family picture at church after the service was over.
The next morning, the kids were up and super excited to see if the Easter Bunny had left anything for them.  They were pretty pumped to see goodies on their chairs!  Hannah got some new rain boots, a My Little Pony, a new Big Sister church and of course a chocolate bunny!
Although Cam didn't exactly understand what was going on, he did enjoy his new Monster Truck, a fun shirt and new jammies.
Hannah also quickly realized that the Easter Bunny also hid some eggs for her and Cam to find.  She had so much fun looking for the eggs-and seeing what was inside!

Cameron's eggs were all sports balls and he also had fun looking and shaking!
After the morning festivities, Tim and I worked on getting lunch together.  My parents came over after my dad's church was done and we enjoyed a really nice, traditional meal of ham and all the fixins.  When we were stuffed to the brim, the kids got to open Easter baskets from my parents.  Then we headed outside for a couple of more egg hunts.  By this point, she was really getting the hang of it and was so excited whenever she found an egg!

We had an absolutely wonderful Easter weekend filled with family, food, traditions, and most importantly celebrating our risen Savior.  Happy Easter!

Happy 1st Birthday, Cameron!

Well, it's officially here -- our little (big) man's 1st birthday!  It was a very low key day for his birthday since his big bash was this past Saturday. We started by capturing our one year old in his birthday shirt.  He looks so big here!  The rest of the day was pretty normal.  Here is a recap of the last month of his first year.  His official weight at one year is 29 lb. 2 oz. (98th percentile) and official height is 32" (96th percentile).  He continues to amaze me at how big he is!  He is wearing 24 month/2T clothes in most things and still a few 18 month jeans.  Cam is still a good sleeper getting between 11-12 hours of sleep a night and about three hours during the day for naps.  It shouldn't surprise anyone that Cameron loves to eat!  He eats anything we put in front of him and also loves his milk.  He drinks 3-4 sippy cups a day of milk.  We still have a super-fast crawler on our hands who isn't really into walking yet.  It's funny because Cameron will get up to standing on his own in the middle of the room, but won't take any steps forward.  I really think it's because he gets around so fast by crawling that he doesn't have enough patience to learn to walk.  Oh well, I know it won't be long!  Cam also babbles all the time and continues to be one of the loudest babies I know!  He is constantly "talking" to us and is really good at repeating what we are saying, both real words and sounds.  He loves playing with his toys, and his sisters!  Most of the times, that is okay with Hannah.  :-)  I'm glad the weather is nice because he loves to be outside!  I can't wait until we go to the pool this summer so we can add that to our outdoor fun.  One thing I can't say enough is how happy our big boy is!  We love to see his toothy grin when he smiles and giggles at us.  Cameron, this first year has brought us so much joy and we can't wait to experience the next with you!  We love you!
