It's a Baseball Kind of Day

Today, we celebrated Cameron's first birthday with our family and friends.  Tim's parents brought both sets of grandparents down for the weekend and birthday party.  We had so much fun spending time with them because we don't get to see them enough.  Kyle, Nikki and baby Jordan also made it down for the party and my grandparents were there also.  It was such a wonderful day!  My party planner/cake decorator partner-in-crime and sister Nikki helped me plan and get ready for the day.  She used her Cricuit to help make these awesome banners for the birthday boy.  Here is also our present to Cam, a new Everywhere Chair!
Another banner to help set up our own concession stand of goodies.  This was a perfect spot for all the treats for the day - baseball cupcakes and baseball Oreo pops, Cracker Jacks and Cam's glove smash cake.

Since we are huge St. Louis Cardinal fans around here, we had to incorporate a little Redbird love into the day.  We found this cute Cardinal outfit and had it personalized!
After a yummy baseball-inspired cookout, it was time to dig into the goodies, and that included the cake!  At first Cameron looked and touched the cake, not quite sure what to do...
then he picked it right up and started chowing down!  By the time it was over, there many have been more cake on and around Cam than in his mouth!  We took Cam straight to the bath tub to clean him off.  So much fun!
After the quick rinse down, it was time to open the gifts.  Cam started out okay, but it didn't take too long for him to crawl off and find something else to do!
Big sister really wanted to be opening "bruder's" presents, but she hung out on the chair with her cousin Hadley watching from afar.  Such a great sister!
Cameron got some new clothes, a few awesome new toys (including this water/sand table and some musical instruments), and some money.  We are so grateful for everyone's generosity!

Before the night was over, we did have a minute to snap some family pictures to capture the moment.  I have to thank my cousin, Lori Rutledge, for many of these amazing photos!  Thank you so much, Lori!

It was the perfect evening and we are so blessesd with awesome family and friends!  Thanks for all your love and support!  Happy Birthday (party), Cameron!
